What it do,
I have a female veiled chameleon that is seven or eight months old I think. My male panther is five or six months am not sure. I know my female panther was born late December 2011 so she's six months now but very small inch and a half nose to vent and don't know what to do there she eats 1/4 crickets that's all.

My question is I use calcium with d3 every feeding five days a week and hero it's rep cal two times a week on weekends that's the only supplements I use. Is that good enough and should I feed daily or every other day with the females. I will always feed daily my boy he's a rare panther with yellow from flchams.com. I mist them all three times daily and no dripper because never works. That's pretty much it with feeding them. I use fake plants never had luck with houseplants lol. Plenty of vines and branches to climb. Cages are big 18" 18" high 36". UVB is 10.0 and believe the 5.0 doesn't go tho the mesh. I use 75 watt bulbs on them and temps are lower 90's now. That's about it and basic as can be. Correct me if am wrong and see what can be made better for them. Idk anymore

Im still a newbie here.

But i think your supposed to dust eith calcium with every feeding and calcium with d3 once or twice a week.

Can one of the vetrans here chime in?

Hi
What brand of calcium with D3 are you using. Most brands have too much D3 in them to be using it five days a week. Some brands you might use a couple times a week, some a couple times a month. Most use/need a plain (vitamin and phosphorous free) calcium powder multiple times a week, and vitamins less often. A lot depends on the type of feeders you are offering, and what you feed those feeders.
have a read of these blog entries to learn about supplements and then be better able to decide what is best for your situation:

BTW 90s is too hot.
dehydrated chams dont eat well. If your current dripper doesnt work, just get a plastic container, use a thin needle to poke a small hole in the bottom, fill with water and let the water drip down onto leaves

plain calcium every feeding

multivitamin twice a month

calcium with d3 twice a month

i use plain calcium every feeding and nutrobal which is multivitamin and clacium with d3 all in one, once twice a month and ive had no problems.

83f degrees for a female but how is 90's to hot for a male Ambilobe. His temp hit 100.4 today so what should I do. Will he die now?

Thats far too hot for a young animal. turn off the basking light (or reduce the wattage or increase the distance between bulb and cage) before it gets that hot next time

Sure I'll turn it off next time just leave UVB going and thats right right. His basking should be 83 also so I'll have to bring it down to a 50 watt and save this one for winter? Still my mind is going nuts lately I hear one thing and then another.

good plan :)
I usually use 40 watt bulbs in the summer - of course it totally depends on your home temp as to what will work best

For male veiled/panthers what is the best temp for them. Basking and coolEnd?

Here's my opinion on general temps:

Veiled/Chamaeleo:
day basking spot up to 96.5F/36C (Non breeding females and Juveniles hottest spot should be kept at a lower temp, closer to 80F)
day cooler spot / ambient range 70-80F/21 -26C
night to a low of 60F/15.5C (Juveniles only down to 68F)

Panther/Fucifer:
day basking spot 90F/32C (Non breeding females and Juvenile basking spot should be kept at a lower temp, closer to 80F)
day cooler spot / ambient range 70-80F /21 -26C
night to a low of 65F/18C
(juveniles only down to 68F)

My male panther is 96-100 as basking temp and I lowered his wattage and still the same. So 90 degrees as basking temp is good for him right. Maybe I will keep the lamp off. Dehydrated as well he is.

I will repeat myself:
Non breeding females and Juveniles (ie your young male) hottest spot should be kept at a lower temp, closer to 80F
so NO 90 degrees as basking temp is NOT good for him, alright?
no wonder he is dehydrated.

I was told basking temp 96 degrees for him. Also you don't have repeat yourself and you don't have to reply ok. Actually no one has to reply idc got all the info I should need for now. If any other threads are posted by me you don't have to reply to those.

She just wants your chameleon to be healthy, i would have assumed you did too.
You may have been told some wrong information regarding care, and she's trying to correct it.
You came here for help, why ask for it if you're just going to disregard everything that's said to you?
