Chameleon stressed?

Sorry if this has been answered im new to the forums but have come here often to read other threads. I recently purchased my baby veiled about 3 weeks ago and everything has been fine up until 2 days ago when I purchased new vines to put in his enclosure. Before I put those in everything had been fine, eating and drinking, I have been dusting all feeders including gut loading, temps are good and UVB lighting as well. Only after I added these new vines has he stopped eating, drinking and has more often then not been a dark black/brown. Today I removed the new vines and cleaned out the cage. He was a Normal
Color for about an hour then turned black and moved as fast as I have ever seen towards where he knows I open the cage from seeming like he wanted out. I'm not entirely sure what to do as I don't want to lose my Cham :/

TLDR; had Cham for several weeks, introduced new vines, Cham turns black stops eating and drinking, remove new vine after 2 days. still acting stressed.

Probably just stressed is all. You added something new which stressed him out a little. He would bounce back in a few days normally. And since you took it back out has probably been re stressed. I know if I add or move anything in my guys cage he gets very grumpy and stressed. I just recently rearranged my room to add more space and to give my guy more open space near him. Took him a few days to adjust but went back to normal very quickly.

Thanks for the input! This is my first Cham and I had done months of research prior to purchasing one! I assumed as much that he was just grumpy and stressed, it just worried me because he's on a hunger strike now!
Do you think I should re-add the vines or keep them removed as I know every Cham is different and I felt like they gave him more places to hide and feel safe!
And the cage is around 85-90 degrees in the warmer side and the colder is 75-80 , it varies, his basking spot is usually around 86-88. I have a digital thermometer to take readings!
