Chameleon Started Gapping??.

This just started today. I didn’t think much of it at first until I kept seeing it happen throughout the day, I’ve had the chameleon for about 1 month now and it’s been perfectly fine. When I first got it, it was closing it eyes a lot during the daytime, but eventually it stopped so I assumed it was due to the stress of moving. And now a few weeks after seeming completely fine and showing no signs of stress and problems, this happens.
Just started today, and if it’s any major issue I’d hope to catch it earlier than later.

make sure the basking bulb isn't too close to your cham!

chameleons gape to cool themselves down. overall, it is completely normal, but make sure the temperatures are not too hot. especially for a smaller cham, no hotter than 80 at basking!

I have been super cautious about that. I measure it to be 85 at the basking branch. And the lights I’ve gotten have both been pretty hot so i made them up pretty high.

Is that a probe you checked it with or one your point and says temp. Should use one with probe. Spot lights put lot of heat in one spot instead of spreading it out so could be a heat thing. If he hold head up and does it could be a upper respiratory infection. Can get from high humidity miixed with heat and not enough air flow

How old is she?
6 months old and I believe it is a male (I might be super incorrect) but it has the bumps on its back feet and I read that if they do, they are a male? I think

Update; he’s still Gapping. He Isn’t lifting his head up or anything as if he’s “trying to get air”, but he is still keeping his mouth pretty open. I hear no weird sounds while breathing, and see no mucus in mouth when it’s opened / when he (yawns?). Idk what he’s doing or why he’s doing it. Basking temperature is still 85, and bottom of the cage is low 70s/high 60s. Current Humidity is 50% Throughout the day, which I raise to 70%+++ 30 minutes after lights shut off, using a humidifier all night until 30 minutes before lights will turn on. Andy misters go off 30 minutes after lights off, 30 minutes before lights on. And run for 2 minutes.

It looks like he’s basking, but idk why he’s basking on the screen instead of the branch right below him. Is the heat basking light too far??. Even though it’s still 85 on the basking branch below him. If too low heat were a problem, wouldn’t he just turn a darker color to absorb more heat?
