Hello!
Long story short...I was shipped a chameleon by a company when their product caused my first chameleon to pass away. The company sent me another, and some product to compensate.
Here are the issues, out of the box:
Pitch Black
Broken Crest (chunk missing)
EXTREMELY skinny
Eyes Sunken in
NO grip
Retained (or bad) shed
Dehydrated
Here's what we've done:
Shake of waxworms, crickets, red wigglers, reptiaid, pedialyte, kale, banana baby food (she ate fine on Saturday...I got her on Thursday...but has not eaten since Saturday. In fact, she will not even open her jaw to hiss at us when we pick her up). Since she has adjusted to her habitat, her colors are near white/light green. When we hold her, her colors are brilliant. She is also getting warm soaks (not actual water...just a warm, wet paper towel). Her grip has improved a LOT since she came in.
Her eyes are still sunken. She is still skinny. She will not eat. And what about that crest? Can it be helped?
Any suggestions? I am DISGUSTED at the company for caring for their animals in this manner!!!
