Chameleon mouth slightly open

Hi i dont usually post on here but with this im completely stumped and saddened. I've recently discovered that my boys mouth is slightly opened? I got him to open his mouth fully and there are no signs of an infection unless it could be a beginning of an infection? I've been searching for answers or how i can help him and theres nothing, my boy doesn't seem to be in pain because of it. He's around 2-3 months i tried to get a good picture of him however the quality is bad and he's obviously scared. I will be probably taking to him to a vet as soon as i can but if anyone has anything that could help i would appreciate that so much. (he just finished his shed)

yes of course i tried my best, it's quite late now so he's heading off to bed which is why his colours are so bright, i forgot to include that he eats and drinks just fine from what i know.

I would take him to the vet... I can see exactly what Kinyonga was looking for with the MBD. the mouth looks like it could be that. Could also be an infection or mouth rot starting.

Booking an appointment for the little guy tomorrow! I'm not exactly sure what brand it is, it's this spiral lamp? I'm sure you've seen it, quite popular. The guy at the store recommended it, maybe he isn't getting enough uvb from it although he tends to sit next to it alot since I've got this branch right next to it (far enough for him not to climb onto it and burn himself) i don't know what it is and i cannot find anyone with this issue although it seems small I'm defo. going to help him as soon and as much as i possibly can. I'm only 12 but i love my lil guy so much, thank you for helping.

Yeah so those are known to cause MBD in chameleons because they only produce the UVB right below it a few inches. You need to buy a t5ho fixture with a 5.0 bulb and you want basking branch to be no closer then 8-9 inches below it. This one in a 24 inch or if your enclosure is wider then you need to get it to run the width.
This should be purchased asap.

That link is full of all correct info. If you were still using the compact UVB then I am sorry to say but you were not reading accurate info. I would still take some time and look through it.

I'm sorry that was stupid of me but I did, the only reason i got that lamp was because the man at the store recommended it i thought i could trust him because he works in a pretty advanced reptile store and i never noticed anything off with his reptiles, I'll do better though. Ordered the lamp!

• He's a male, veiled chameleon who is around 2-3 months old I'm not sure exactly he looked to be around 1 week old when i got him (very small)
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• I take him out whenever he wants to come out and put him on his favourite plant, he'll climb onto my hand. Usually he wont especially during shedding but maybe once every 1-2weeks he'll come out by his choice and i let him sit on his plant (he always has such pretty, happy colous when he does ☺).
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Well since he's still a baby i give him about as much as he'll eat 2-3 times a day in the morning 8am and then sometimes during the day around 12pm and then 6pm, hos staple feeders are crickets and dubias as those are easiest to acess but i switch it up and feed him waxworms, fruit flies, silkworms occasionally I'll give him mealworms but very rarely, he wont eat any veggies or fruit i give him, i gutload the insects with lots of things mainly: mustard greens, carrots, dandelion leaves, papaya, sweet potato, kale, lettuce.
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• I dust my insects with "repashy supercal nod"- and "flukers calcium" (with d3) - every 2 weeks and just a regular calcium with no d3/phosphurus about every feeding VERY lightly dusted.
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking? As of right now i haven't had a chance to get a misting system so i mist his enclosure/plants manually 3 times a day for 1-2 mins. And i have seen his drink before but usually he doesn't like it when i watch him eat or drink so rarely.

• No he hasn't he's going to go to his first vet checkup very soon, urate - white/creamy and then his poop - brown / a very dark brown, normal consistency? Not watery lol

• Once he got out of his enclosure and was missing for a couple days we found him downstairs right next to the couch very scared, poor little guy. He was okay though still is slightly recovering.
