Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - Veilled chameleon. Female. She is about 3 years and 8 months. I have taken here before 3 years and 1 month
  • Handling - Never, maybe once per 3-4 months.
  • Feeding - Mostly crickets, sometimes dubias but not very often.5-6 cricets per day. 5 times per week.
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? Dragovit calcium +D3 +minerals(don't know the exact brand) every 15th day. (twice per month). Exoterra calcium without d3 every single feeding.
  • Watering - I am using sprayer, misting every day 2-3 times. This is the only way that my chameleon drinks water. From the begining she does not want to drink from leaf drops.
  • Fecal Description - Brown with yellow. She was tested before 2 years and she had no parasites.
  • History - She has tongue problems. Can't shoot her tongue far than 5cm. I am feeding her in deep coup. She is getting in, eating and comming out :) But not now :( :(

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Screen cage, 600x500x1100mm
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule? Arcadia Forest 5% UV bulb + 45/60W basking lamp. (old retro lamp with tungsten snipe)
  • Temperature - Cage floor is the room temp (23-26C) Basking spot is about 30-31C. There is no lower temp than 23C at night.
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - She has jasmin from 1 month (before that she has umbrella, but she died) and a lot of artificial flowers
  • Placement - The cage is located in my living room, she is near us, but it was never a problem for her. If we have guest, she starts to hide, but never from us. Teher are no vents. Her maximum height is about 2m from the floor.
  • Location - Sofia, Bulgaria

Current Problem - From 2-3 weeks she started to look different. Everytinhg starts when she get in her coup to eat and could not exit from it. We helped her. Few days after that she fall from the branch in the flower pot. Yesterday she fall again. Today she does not want to drink or to eat. We are giving the cricets next to her and she has no interest in them. Before that, every time she poop, she went down to the bottom of the cage. Now she cant go down, or if she is down, can't go to her basking spot. And she poops from the top of the terrarium. Her grip is very weak and very often she fell down with her head down, but somehow she is still catching the branches and we help her to go back to top. We had never such a problems with her for 3 years.

PS:She is sleeping most of the day.

PS:She layed eggs only once for those 3 years and 8 months. Before 2 years, when I was worried about her and her eggs, I went to vet, they made x-ray and said "She absorbs her eggs" 1 Year later she had her 1st eggs in her life. 15-20eggs.

She is sleeping now, tomorrow i will make some pictures, but as i know, from other members here, she does not look like to have.

The only thing that‘s really jumping out at me is her basking temps are a bit high. Generally we try to keep our girls around 26c. I’m not sure if jasmine is a safe plant if she were to eat it, even though I have found it in some safe for reptile lists. Personally, I think a vet visit with a fresh fecal check for parasites is a good idea. Crickets can sometimes carry parasites that can be passed to your chameleon.
