I took my veiled chameleon into the vet because he needed surgery to have his penis removed due to it drying up and getting infected. The vet weighed him and he only weighs 72 grams and he is a year and a half old. I give him the oppertunity to eat, i try and feed him every day, ive tried meal worms, super worms, red wigglers, and crickets he used to eat crickets all the time and now he wont, and the super worms he goes after but if he doesnt catch it on his tounge after the 2nd chance he just gives up and doesnt eat...

Whats wrong with him? What else should I try? Will he eat green veggies?

Someone help! Thanks!

How long ago did he have surgery? He may still be recovering, sometimes it takes a while to regain appetite.

I've heard of people making a sort of "bug juice" for their chameleons when they're sick but I don't know much more about it. Hopefully someone more experienced will chime in here

Hope he feels better soon!

Post a picture of him now please! He may be in very bad shape if he is 72 grams, can't shoot his tongue, and won't eat.

Please fill this out as well

Pictures are helpful

He had surgery on the 14th. Its been about 5 or 6 days. And even before his surgery he just stopped eating everything and not even seeming like he was hungry :/

Its not that he cant shoot his tounge out because he can and he can catch the worms but if he misses the worm and hit next to it he just doesnt even try again. The doctor said nothing else was wrong with him, while he was in surgery the vet gave him some food supplements and hydrated him to the point he needed to be and yeah... i just dont know why he wont eat.. Ill upload a picture soon

Please fill out that form to the best of your abilities. Do not leave anything out if possible.
