Chameleon has strange colors?

I have a chameleon named Kamo and he is about 2.5 months old. Today I took him out of the cage to climb on my blinds, because that is his favorite thing to do and he got super excited and turned all green, except for this weird rust colored stain on his bottom half. It looks like someone dipped his bottom half in something. No matter what color he turns it stays there. Is there something wrong with him? I'm very worried. Thank you for your help

Here is a picture of him

What are his temps? Can he get near his basking light?

Maybe just his colouring, or could be a burn???

His temps are 88 under the basking light and between 70-75 in other parts of his cage & his basking light is 6" above his top screen. I don't think it's a burn because its on his bottom half...

That is a rather odd color for him, interested to see what people say about it...

it really is like someone took water with rust in it and let him play around

Hmmmmm. Doesn't seem it'll be a burn, although I think 88 may be a bit too hot for one so young?

Keep us posted won't you? Will be interesting to see what this turns out to be..

Age?

When my veiled was young and got pissed off he turned that same color. He only did it once or twice. Once he got older he turned into is 'adult' colors when he got mad or excited.

Your cham looks pretty young...
