chameleon feeding? how many?

OK so I've been searching through the website looking for help with no success!! So I wanted to start a thread about feeding? OK so in around 2 weeks I'm receiving my 2 1/2 month old male veiled chameleon! :) everything is all setup but feeding is the problem? My question is how much/many feeders should I feed it daily? I've seen some people say as much as it can eat, around 20-30 crickets or 4-8 feeders daily! This is when things get confusing. IMO what im thinking is feed 5-7 dubia roaches and 2-3 superworms daily. Is this a good way to do it? And along with some crickets every other day. And as soon as I get my hornworms to pupate and breed I will be feeding it hornworms aswell very other day. But for now is 5-7 roaches and 2-3 superworms sufficient or how do you guys feed your chams?

I would not feed the supers everyday. They are a fatty feeder and your chameleon will probably love them as most do and he might not want to eat anything else. I would feed the dubia, and crickets and then the supers here and there, maybe a couple of times a week. I feed pretty much as much as they want when they are babies. That is just my opinion.

Thanx for your opinion! And yes I've heard of people saying superworms are very addictive sometimes. And so should superworms be a every other day feeder or what? Would it harm my .chameleon?

Well, besides the chameleons showing favoritism for the supers above other feeders you have to consider that it is a very fatty feeder. Just think of what happens to our bodies when we eat too much fat. A great feeder worm is the silkworm. High in calcium and low in fat. I do feed supers, but just a couple of times a week. It is really up to you. Just vary his diet and you should be fine.

Babies that age normally eat crickets as a staple. I feed all that that can eat in about 3 minutes plus one or two extra for later. :) A large variety of feeders is always best but I would ask the breeder what they have been feeding and how much. I would keep everything the same at first because he will have enough to go through being shipped and having a new home and all new people. I wouldn't change his diet too, at least not for a week or so. Also some chameleons do not like roaches.
