Chameleon eggs

Does anyone have any experience with their eggs.
I have some that are being incubated at about 80-85 F
I see that a few out of the clutch have turn red and blue and a few
are starting to grow fungus. How do you tell if they are fertile eggs or not
this is lizard's first clutch of eggs and don't know when to dispose
of them.

How old are the eggs? What type of cham eggs do you have? Those are pretty high temps for most cham eggs. Once the eggs are laid, the infertile ones start molding and discoloring after a week or two. If the eggs are good, they will retain the white coloration, will not cave in and will start to grow after a couple months.

They are veiled chameleon eggs. The female was eggbound. They are about
3 weeks and some have turned red blue and molded, they were discarded
and others incubate at about 83 F.

Did you take the eggs from her after she died?

Your temperatures are too hot...you may have already killed the eggs.

I am lowering the temp. The incubator will maintain a temp. of 83-85 if
it is left plugged in so I will have to add timer to regulate the temperature
78-90.I know the chameleons like the higher temperatures but am still unsure that their eggs can handle higher temperatures.I don't want to bake them.
I don't know if they are fertile they seem to be ok.This was the first and
only clutch of eggs. That what happened!Got eggbound and then dehydrated
it will kill them before you even know anything is wrong. She did not eat very much was the only symptom.A smaller sized chameleon that could not handle
the many eggs that crushed her lungs and could not breath very well.

I have my eggs at a constant 75. They are kept in a closet on a shelf in the lower 1/2 of the closet where the cooler temps are. (I live in Florida). They incubate great at that temp.
