Chameleon Eating Spag Moss

I have the BioDude live terrarium setup with soil and spag moss. I've been noticing that my 5-month-old chameleon will occasionally go down to the bottom of the cage, grab a huge mouthful of spag moss, chew it up and eat it. Does anyone know why this would be the case? I have a mistking setup that mists often and feed him a variety of bugs (dubias, supers and horn worms), so I don't think he's dehydrated.

Does anyone else's chameleon do the same thing?

Common for certain species to do this, many juveniles seem to. Be careful with sphagnum it could be difficult to pass.
