Hey, Im Busterboy! Im new. I really dont know how to post anything yet so I am not sure if I am posting in the right area but I was wondering if someone can help me out. I saw this website and everyone seems really helpful about all chameleon problems lol :D sooo....heres the problem. I bought my two veiled chameleons at a pet store..... (boy and girl) and i didnt know you couldnt put them together in the same cage so about a month passes and their fine with each other. Then this next month the male is very aggressive towards her and I have caught him taking advantage of her (mating).....Im not sure what to do. I think she is young but I am not sure. will she get egg bound? im not really sure how old they are but i got them when they were small..

u could seperate them cuss they stress alot when they are together even if its a male male or male and female u could put a screen between them so they dont see eachother :eek:

Oh dear! You need to seperte them at once. If the male grows bigger than the female he will take all the food and the good basking spots and may eventually eat her! It could go the other way if the famale got larger but generally the males are bigger.

Can we please see photos of them so we can possibly give you an idea of age.

Since they mated there is a chance that the female could now be producing eggs! She will need a good sized laying bin in her own enclosure and privacy to lay. Here's a great blog by Jannb on females and egg laying https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/jannb/345-egg-laying-laying-bin.html
If she does lay you will need to take extra care of her afterwards to get her food water and calcium back up as she will lose a lot during pregnancy.

And here's another great blog by jann on general keeping for new keepers https://www.chameleonforums.com/blo...-keepers-young-veiled-panther-chameleons.html

Memorise these two blogs and feel free to ask any more questions you may have :) and please let us know how you get on!

Oh and don't forget pictures! :D
