chameleon color-change/

when i say color change i mean the development of new colors, not the transition of shades.

my newton female veiled cham has had the same colours since birth (had her since 2 months) she turns 6 months in 7 days (since day of purchase, she could be 6 months now, but i'd like to say her bday is on jan 28) when is she expecting to get new colours? i've seen her turn into some odd patterns of brown-ish on her face but thats about it. any help?

That sounds about right. I mean what do you expect? They are not going to have any drastic color changes

thats exactly it, i dont really expect anything.
but is she supposed to be green with yellow stripes her whole life?

Yes I would say so. They might have some color change due to mood. Or if they are breeding but only slight differences. Its not like on TV where they change to what ever color you put them on. Panther chameleons get some of the more crazy reds and blues. Check out some pics on the forum and see how they compare to your baby. I bet she looks stunning!

i guess boy veileds are the only ones that have those ridiculous blues huh?
i shouldve done research. =/ all i focused on was care for my cham, never figured there was a difference between genders other than size of enclosure

We would love to see some pics of her! That is good you did some research. Hey if space and money isnt too limited you can always get another! There are many types of Chameleons. Veiled chameleons stay kinda greenish but some can have lots of oranges, turquoise, whites n darks. The males seem to be more colorful than females but females can still have some amazing unique marks. The really blue ones are Panther Chameleons, more specifically the Nosey Be panther chameleon. There are like 10+ different kinds of panther chameleons. I am getting a ambilobe panther. I bet your girl is beautiful either way. I am sure in time you will see some cool color changes with her. Just dont expect anything changing like crazy colors. Pics!!

Also how old is your baby?!?(Oh she is 6 months I just looked up ) in about 3 months at around 9 months of age maybe sooner, or later, she is going to be ready to lay eggs. With a male around or not. She will get fat with eggs in her. You are going to have to learn how to make a little laying bin for her and her eggs. It is not to hard at all. There are some awesome threads on here if you just go to 'search' and look up egg bins. Friend me if you like and if you have any problems or ? just let me know. Alot of the times the pet stores wont give you the full story when you are buying a new pet.
