Cham won't eat dubias?

Now I see, sorry, don’t know much about the interwebs and all the twitterbook stuff. Anyways, there are several people on this forum who keep thousands of roaches of many species.

Good idea...could this be a ventilation issue?

Maybe, I'd still find that odd. I have a few humid bins with only about a half inch hole. Even those don't smell bad. I have substrate in all of mine. Pretty much just smells damp and earth in those bins.

I agree. My bin houses probably 1500, and the only substrate is about and inch and a half of frass, and no smell.

Yeah how often is are you switching our
What's a phorid infestation?

They're little flies, easy way to tell is they're around the size of a fruit fly, but with humps on their back and much quicker. They run across surfaces rather than fly when startled. They often lay their eggs on dead things and the maggots produce a foul smell while eating the carcasses. A large die off can draw them in. Most roaches eat their dead, so usually not a problem. Some phorids are parasitic too, but I haven't seen those to my knowledge.
