Cham Throat

when a cham puffs out her throat like this...what is she really doing i knw when beardies do it there strething their beard out thanks ...i googled it but couldnt find the answer...i knw they do it when mad but even when not mad they do it anyone knw why???/ this aint my cham either got it offline :confused:

when they swallow you will see this for a moment. they do also stretch it out from time to time. also along with other body gestures its a sign of "im a big bad lizard...please go away!!".
 
My Senegal will do it when he is basking outside. I think it helps to get the tongue out of the way so they can open their mouth and regulate body heat.

Other than that i have to agree with defense and swallowing reflexes.
 
Also they'll do it when basking sometimes to maximise their surface area. It's why they'll usually tilt to one side and flatten out their body too.
 
Beardeds do it to show you that they are upset with you for one reason...and so do chameleons. There are other reasons too...some of which were mentioned.
