hey guys just a quick question... when i got my boy when i mist his cage or he gets water from the dripper the water will drip down or wont stay in his skin... and ive seen pics of the chams that looks the same like their skin wont suck up the water and they wont look like their soaked... is their any reason why the skin is absorbing the water like that ? ??

just a random question im a bit curious bout that thnx :)

They don't have "skin" they have scales. The scales repel water not absorb it, that is why it beads up on the surface or runs off. :)

I have not seen the scales "absorb" water, are you talking about the humidity thing? If they are in a humid environment they are breathing in more moisture not "absorbing" it, when they are shedding, getting the old layer of scales wet helps it fall off. I think the phrase "they absorb moisture from the air" is mis-leading and confusing for some. Makes it sound like they are a sponge:) Oh, and I found a thread about all this, search the forums for "absorb water through skin", you can even google that phrase and it will bring up the thread if you want more info and other's opinions. :)
