Hi
For the last 4 days my Cham has not really been up high at all, he seems to stay low in the viv near the bottom ?
I've only had him a week now an was woundering if this means there's something wrong ? He seems to like the darker parts of his viv
Could this have something to do with the 10.00 UVB bulb ?

He could be hiding if the lower end is thicker with foliage. Temp could be to hot or the 10.0 could he to much.. though haven't hesrd of the 10.0 causing that issue.. 5.0 is still recommended in most cases. What is ur temps from top to bottom?
What kind of cham? Age? Male female?

How long has the UVB been used for? Sometimes when you first get the bulbs they have a burn in period where the UVB output is really intense and the chameleons don't like it or will close their eyes.

My thermometer is reading 73 which Is in the middle of the viv and I have my thermo stat for the basking area at 85
I have a 4 or 5 month old nosy be panther and he's a male :)

And I've only had my light a week it's a Eco terra repti glo 10.00 UVB
I roughly have it on 11 hours a day :)

Thanks for replys

To late to exchange it for a 5.0? Ur temps are right for a little one. In a month or two slowly step ilthe basking up to 90-93. as he reaches teenager size

How long have you had your chameleon? If you just got him he may just be getting used to his new home still. If that's the case, just let him settle in for a few weeks. Also, you don't have to raise the temps that early if you don't feel comfortable with it.

Good point. I reread the first post OP has had him a week but only 4 days has he been low. Adjustment still very possible
