so i noticed two nights now as i sit on my laptop i hear charlie makine sorta like a sneezing noise or a puffing noins but he is sleeping :s does anyone know what this is? could he be dreaming? never read about anything like this before so id really like to know if anyone out there has experienced this

Check his mouth for mucous or bubbles-sounds like a possible respiratory infection that will require a Vet visit.

hmm iv checked his mouth before and (after a good bite) i did not see any mucus, when he is being handled and say you slide your hand underhim to get him on your other hand you can hear the same noise but its faint and really quiet, almost like he is grunting

He could just be threatening you. My big Veiled male will puff air or grunt if he does not like something we are doing. But if he is asleep he should not be making sounds.

hmmm i just find it weird how it will happen at night and he will make a little puff sounds about 5 times in a row and stop, and in the day he is quiet as a mouse

In the last little while you posted about your chameleon bleeding and not drinking properly....now this. I think its time for a visit to a vet. Maybe it has a parasite or an infection or something else?

Could be a respiratory infection. They are not uncommon with chameleons.

Double check your husbandry. Is your enclosure warm enough under the basking area, too cold at night, too wet etc?

I'd keep a close watch on your chameleon the next few days to ensure that it doesn't get worse.

In my experience, those noises are a URI until proven otherwise. Catch it early, get some Baytril into himand make sure he gets plenty of water even if you have to hand water with a dropper. If it is a URI and you delay, it may develop into pneumonia. I've never seen one recover from that. A slightly higher ambient temp is not a bad idea if he is ill.

^^Completely agree here. It sounds like it's the early stages of Respiratory infection. Just because you don't see bubbles does not mean he does not have a respiratory infection. Bubbles indicate that it's a pretty advanced RI. Have you noticed stringy or thick mucous? Has he bulged his gular? Either way, get him to the vet.
