Cham Looks Drab Under UVB

I'm wondering if anyone else has this experience. My little guy seems to look "washed out", drab, and just plain different under his UVB. I was worried it was because something was wrong because his favorite spot is under it. But he looks like he always has anywhere else in the cage. It's just in that particular spot that he looks so washed out. I tried to take a picture but he got fired up so it didn't work out. Thoughts anyone?

The reptisun bulbs give off a harsh white light which really washes out colors. I noticed that when I got a batch of reptisuns instead of reptiglos. I like the reptiglo CFLs much better because they give off yellow light, which is much more natural and brings out the color of my chams!

ideas to make him happy: get him a larger cage or free range him, more plants, more vines, recheck your temps, make sure he has no drafts on him, hes not about to shed

what is his age? maybe young..some can be dull for a little longer than others.

imo unless you have another male for him or female. it can sometimes be a chore to see the same colors you see outside.

genetics.

Yeah I have the Exo Terra 5.0 and it's not even a month old yet. Bodhi is about 2-3 months old. He just shed about a week ago. His colors are perfectly fine everywhere else in the cage. He just seems washed out right under his UVB. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I was worried this past week thinking he was unhappy or sick. But after watching him it is completely clear that it is just the UVB bulb.

I haven't tried any other types so if you guys have any recommendations let me know.

So which type are you using now? I'm using the Exo Terra Reptiglo. A lot of people prefer the Reptisun on here.
