Ceramic heat emitter

Hi!
So im starting to prepare for cold temperatures...just in case. Our studio is poorly insulated so if it gets cold outside, the room will be too. Lets not talk about running the heater in this economy

I was thinking of getting this ceramic heat emitter for him. Can I put this directly on the mesh on top of his cage? Or would it melt the mesh? Does anyone have one and could give me advice on how to set it up?

How cold is too cold to you? Can you move him into another room?

If you do this make sure you buy a fixture that is made for this bulb type. Deep dome would be best option so it lifts it higher off the cage top. Really really really monitor temps with this. These can produce thermal burns very easily so make sure he can not get close to it.
