Cellular PVC vs Wood

Cellular PVC or Wood?

HI, I'm about to starting building a chameleon cage (planning to buy jacksons at end of year). I've already got it pretty much designed in sketchup but I just saw a build on another forum (Not about chameleons) and they used Cellular PVC to build a terrarium for Poison dart frogs I believe.

My question is has anyone ever used Cellular PVC and would it be a safe alternative to wood? As it's already water resistant and won't splinter or warp it looks like a good idea on paper, but I've never used it and wasn't sure if it would be good to use or if i should just stick with would and lots of polyurethane and silicon to make it water tight. Any Suggestions or input would be helpful as i'm starting the build in a few weeks. I should also mention my cage will be living one, with organic dirt in the base of the cage and proper substrate below that.

Here's the link. I found it while looking at vivarium idea's (My wife is going to buy a crested gecko so been looking for design idea's for her)

what ever you chose make sure you have a full top of screen and also a front ventilation

My design is mostly based off another cage on this forum. I'll have to find it later, but it's a foot and a half base where dirt goes in, and 4 feet tall enclosure, where the back will be solid and each side will be 2 feet long, and 1 foot on each side will be screened and back half wont. Plan is to have back and back half of the sides will be used to make fake rock and hold plants to give it more natural look, along with holding branches for cross walks, then front and top will also be screened. I'll Make a new post when i start it in two weeks.
