Well u didn't know chameleons could jump... I was bringing him inside and he jumped off my hand

They definitely can (its mostly a fall, but there is a bit of a jump ). I know someone who lost a chameleon this way. He is a great keeper, but his cham jumped and landed awkwardly on a concrete floor while he was transporting him on his hand. Just landed the wrong way. I think Castiel was telling you he didn't want to go in yet .
