If you're looking for a longer lasting cham panther is the way to go. Carpets are awesome, smaller, and females show bright colors. However, Carpets tend to only last about 3-5 years from the research I've done.
Also a big factor will be the source. Most carpets will be wildcaught (with one or two exceptions...be careful), of unknown age, stressed, parasitized and harder for a newbie to acclimate. But, carpets don't need as large a habitat either.

He is correct also depends how much room u have too if your limited on space id say go with A carpet i know figg on here and the kammers do have carpets that are cb on occasion panthers can go and do well in an 18x18x36 inch cage as long as u let them free range like every other day you will be good to go female panther tend to stay small so that cage is perfect for them too
