Carmen Drinking...

So this was pretty weird. We set up the drip system earlier today because we finally found them up in storage. Noticed that it had stopped dripping and messed with it so it worked again.

A drop fell and Carmen looked up, before we knew it he was like this:

Now I personally think this was weird. His hind legs on one screen and his front legs on the ceiling of the cage. His mouth was right at the spot the water was dripping down from.

(The water is hitting plenty of leaves as it falls. Trust me I checked!)

nothing weird about that at all.

My veiled often do that when he's a baby.
He would climb upside down and start drinking under the dripper nozzle.

Now, he often stand under my auto mister every 5 pm (that is the last misting session for the day).
and lazily drink from the mist that hits him directly.

I never seen him directly licking the leaves even once.

Its pretty amusing to see. I was scared he would lose grip trying to get back on the side wall and fall!

I honeslty haven't seen my chameleons drink from anything but their leaves in the cage. So it was pretty weird to me :)

They are smart...

They are smart when it comes to the essentials.........I mist mine with a spray bottle. One of my males come up to the bottle, grabs it with both front feet and opens his mouth to wait for a gentle "squirt". After awhile I have to push him off so I can mist the cage. It looks like you have a gymnast in the making there Zoey :)

Yeah he's quite the funny guy! I swear if there were no lights on the top of his cage he would be climbing all upside down and what not! Lately he's taken to walking across the screen walls and not the plants. :)

with 45 panthers, spray misting must give your arm some serious exercise.
