Captive Hatched Kinyongia Tavetana!!!!

No camera:( I had to borrow the secretaries yesterday to get a pic which is even worse than the camera I normally borrow. I will get some more pics down the road when I can use a better camera.
how are you suppose to document history with no camera do you paint hahaha:D

You can come to the mountain anytime Phil. Its nice shooting the:eek: with another cham keeper in person every once in a while.

Very, very cool!! That must feel great after losing some eggs in the beginning!! Congrats, again :D

Thanks guys!!!!

Yeah it feels AWESOME to even have 5 running around!!! Hell I would have been happy with just one after all of the bumps which nexttime (and there will be one;)) I should have worked out. I think one of the problems was There wasnt many eggs so I didnt use a big container like I do on the panthers so I think that is the culprit for drying out quicker. I wil also have one of those mini fridges so I can keep them incubating at precise temps and not have it fluctuating from season changes.

Still waiting on the last guy to come out!!!!

Absolutely fantastic, Cain :). Look at those little tavs - they are gorgeous, and the photos are stunning! Sorry I missed this post a few days ago...hhope that they thrive for you.

Best,
Susan James

Thanks again Susan! Thanks for the tips on the Cristatus also:)

Well, the sixth egg started to get what looked like a "soaked" spot on it and was turning a greenish/yellowish color on it. I decided it was time to intervene even though most will say he was probably just too weak to make it out of the egg. These guys are too special to me just to not do anything;) so I cut the egg open. Inside was a fully developed neonate with no yolk attached. I figure it was past his time to come out and he already soaked it up. Well he seemed dead all day yesterday, I poked him (gently of course:eek:) to see if there was any reaction but there was none. I was going to chalk him up as dead but when I just looked in the container he is running around!!!! Hopefully he makes it even though I had to help him.

Cain, as usual, I am far behind on this busy forum. Just wanted to say "happy" and hope that the babies Tav fare well for you. And of course, the WC adult crissies as well, they do need the gentle touch.

Best to you, Mrs. Fireball (hi Missy) and the little tavs and the others :). Adcham.com calls me away as do other issues, sorry.

Sexed!!!!

1 male 5 females;) I would almost bet my left arm!!!! The male is the last one that came out and already has more pronounced horns than the rest also tends to stay the rustic colors instead of the real pastel like greens. They are all devouring the FFs!!!:D

That's great Cain!
So great to have that many females among your survivors.
The start of your breeding project with these guys is only a year a way!

First sheds!!!

There are 3 shedding right now and I suspect the other 2 to start soon:D They are just over 2 months old except for one female who is almost 2 months (the one I cut out of the egg.:))

HEY CAINE mine just shed today he has some awesome colors and pattern you notice the green dots that cover the head these tiny hatchlings are easier then the wild caught adults for sure!

Nice pic of that female jackson, she looked pissed hahahahaha. Of course the CH are easier than the WC! The one little fat WC female still hasnt layed but seems she will do her thing soon. They have a little longer gestation period than panthers and veileds. I hope to get just a couple more gravid females soon so I can have a few clutches hatch around the same time. Glad to hear that little male is doing good!!! The sternfeldi:p are doing great. They are pretty cool little characters!
