Cant open my cham's mouth

I cant get my chameleons mouth open to give him medicine, how can i get it open? he clamps down so hard whenever I try to give it to him

What med are you trying to give? Liquid meds can be injected into hornworms or silkworms. What is your chameleon being treated for?? How old is he?

If you drip water on the tip of its nose so it drinks you can ease the meds into its mouth while it's drinking. IMHO this is the least stressful way to do it.

liquid meds as well as being force fed because he will not eat crickets or anything else.

Did you take him to a vet because of his dangling leg? If so, what did the vet say?

My Jax also has the clamp of death when trying to give him meds. The best procedure for me is to have one person hold him still and secure his horns so he can't thrash his head, then I very very gently pull on his throat area. Sometimes this will prompt him to open his mouth, sometimes not. If your medicine came with a long rubber nipple, you will want to use that too.

My chameleon everytime i get a mirror close to him he opens his mouth from the reflection, maybe try that, altough i have a panther, and might not work on a jackson, lol
