Hi all and happy new year .does anyone use parrot safe candles in there home in their cham room . It says they are safe for reptiles as well any thoughts or opinions. Tia

I'd not heard of these until just now, so I looked them up https://parrotsafecandles.com/
Some of the hype I just read is reminiscent of that used in promoting vaping, i.e. "safer than smoking".

"Safer" ≠ "Safe"

Even the wick is made of 100% natural paper and soy, allowing for a much cleaner burn with fewer carcinogens released into the air compared to other wicks.

"Fewer" ≠ "None"

As for the fragrances, they are created with a combination of natural essential oils and synthetic aroma chemicals.

any thoughts or opinions.
TBH, that's about all I do have on these since it's the first I've heard of them. JMO.

My gut/instinct has always been
No smoking
No vaping
No "air fresheners"
No incense
No candles
Nothing that puts particles, VOCs, chemicals, etc. into the air.

As an alternative, what about LED candles?

Sorry should have made it clearer not for light . I don't do any of the gut instinct things.ie no smoking vaping blah blah. Up until recently these where only available or sold by to my knowledge an American company. But are know available in the uk ( as its the holidays) I haven't been able to get any feed back from the company) I was just curious as I have a turtle in the same room as My cham and even with frequent water changes can sometimes smell . Obviously I can deal with that over any endangerment of the animals.

What's the source of the odor(s)? Algae/slime, turtle 💩, decaying matter...?
