Can you use felt on the bottom of your cage?

Is it safe to use like green felt on the bottom of your cage to make for easy cleanup and throw away or no?

I use zoomed repti cage carpet which is just like green felt. It is great to just Hoover out. The only thing I would watch out for is excess dampness/wetness and mould also if your Cham walks on the floor, can his nails catch in the felt?

I'm not sure about if the nails can get stuck, not worried about mold, just want something to get most of the waste and I'll clean it out once I throw away the green felt place mat. I also have a drain which should help.

I would not use it. I would be worried if they climbed to the bottom that they might get their nails stuck in the felt.

I have a terrarium so tends to get little damper i change it about once a week , if there's suprises papertowel them up if u want very easy . i'd say less work than if you were to use paper towel just have your felt pieces pre cut slip um in and out.

I have to say with my short time with repti cages why would you want anything on the bottom. A quick clean up with a paper towel is all you need.

Do you mean some sort of terrarium/reptile carpet? I would not use regular fabric store type felt. Some natural fibers are going to mildew and mold if they are constantly wet...they weren't designed for that situation.

Dealing with all the water from spraying and dripping every day, the hassle of rearranging all the live plant pots and perch structures every time you would have to change out a piece of carpet, plus the disturbance for the cham, I don't really want anything on the cage bottom. Too much hassle to work around. Cleaning up after a single cham in a cage is easier without that.
