I know you can slow hormworms by keeping them cool - is there a way to slow cricket growth with out killing them ? I hate to not feed them , or keep them warm as I am scared it will kill them- but they are out growing my babies so fast, I have over 1,000 that have out grown them - I was going to get 1/8 , that are kinda to small, but if I go with the next size up, it seems I can only feed them for a few weeks, and then they all get to big
once they get big enough for roaches, I will not need crix- they are not part of the " normal " diet I feed the bigger guys ~ any suggestions ? thanks guys :)

I don't know if lowering the temp would work, but I know they wont breed if the temp drops under 70f.
If there is a way to stunt their growth, I would like to know what it is too :)

I can keep 1/2" alive for 2 months at 65-66f. Though yea, they wont nook nook at those temps. At 100f a crickets life is only 6 weeks.

:p :p LOL - never heard it called that before :p
I dont want them to breed, just not grow - lol I buy 1,000 every mo for 2 , 2 mo old Jax boys - it is only $2 more for the extra 500 - so why not  but that leaves me with A LOT of crix to big for them at the end of the mo. they dont seem to die  - lol - so I have tons of crix, I dont really feed them to anyone else normally , but I do feed them to all my mantis , but not so much the chams - and like I said, once they hit nymph size, I wont need crix at all :)

If you have a cool spot in your house, like a basement, you can try that.
I don't think you can noticeably retard their growth, but it is worth a try.

Maybe feed them less!?

The Kammer's told me a few years ago they feed their cricks bug burger only.

Maybe try that, since they will not over-eat that stuff.

no basement, no bug burger - :(
I ordered 1,000 more 1/8th  :p I am going to be up to my eyeballs in crix - once they get to big, I guess I could go the other way, and get them to breeding size and make my own- the one bug Dave FORBIDS IN THE HOUSE, is crix- but he is fine w/ 10,000 roaches  lol I also have Cuban Knight Anole eggs due to hatch, so that would be another one who can help get rid of a few- lol
