Can you file veiled chameleons nails?

So recently my veiled is tearing my arm up when crawling around. While I was at a pet shop they said you can file them a little bit to knock the tips off. Is that ok?

Also, my cham had black stripes and now they are turning turquoise is that normal? I just want to make sure he is healthy and not missing anything I have him on all the right suplements/lighting etc. just wanting to make sure my growing boy is doing ok.

Good question about the nail filing!! My Veileds nails are like little pins!! OUCH!!

no ! do not file their nails they need their nails sharp to dig into their environment for traction
