I have a exo terra large...filled with branches and climbing ropes all over it,witch holds the male veiled Cham,I was sold two chams, male and female and was told that they would live together quite happily witch I now know was a croc of sh**,she fell pregnant and passed 39 eggs, witch are all being looked after by a good pets shop ( not the one where I brought them from )since ,y poor little female has had the eggs she has stopped eating and has lost all body weight and has become very weak, she can't even stand up and hold her own body weight,I taken her to a good vet and he has given me some calma-c and some poly aid to give her through a syringe and I am giving her water the same way through the syringe, does any one have any idea what could be wrong the vet mentioned Mdb and I was looking for any tips to get her back on the road to recovery..

Many thanks for taking the time to read.

Would welcome any advice as I do love her very much and don't want to lose her...

I am shy to give advice as I am very new to Chams, but I wanted to shear this with you because I feel part of the only reason my cham is still with me is because of this mix-
I am doing the same thing- nursing a sick cham, what I had been feeding mine was a diet recommended by Laurie, its called BUG JUICE - you take your feeding bugs, + ensure, and your calcium that you would dust your crickets with, I used the amount of bug she would eat in 2 days, and put it in a blender - ( a bullet blender works great ) just add enough water to help them "mix" - then strain out the hard parts, I used a small folded piece of screen , and then feed that mix, my cham really liked it, and she did very well on it - gained weight too, make fresh every 2 days- I gave .3 cc every 3 hrs - also, be sure to not let any sit on the gums, offer a bit of water to rinse her mouth/gums
I now have my cham on a diet called Critical Care per my Vets orders, but to be honest, she liked the bug juice better :)

if I have forgotten anything on the recipe someone please correct it -
Please dont give up on her, my little cham SHOULD have died - and she is still here , they are remarkable little souls , I hope she does well , will pray for you both :)

Thankyou that sounds like a very good idea...almost like bug smoothies....as soon as the shops open I'm on it,I read on here tonight the blog about gut feeding so I will make sure the little critters get plenty of goodness before I give them the one chop:)

Thankyou.

Tez.

When a female passes eggs no matter how few it takes allot out of them if I was u I would try getting her to eat make sure u keep her food dusted is cal unless you got something from your vet to substitute it im sure if you continue to feed her and get her her own cage she will recover.

she cant see any other chameleons right? try to give her a warm shower to get her to drink water fill a mister with warm water and mist her for a minute it will forve her to drink water is important
