Can silkworms only eat mulberry leaves?

Is there anything else that silkworms can eat beside mulberry leaves and silkworm chow? I dont have mulberry trees/silkworm chow so I'm wondering if there is anything else I can feed them.

Not reliably, no.
We have chow if you need some. Otherwise a quick google search can list a number of different places.

I "heard" hornworm chow will work, maybe try some carrot n microblade it so they can eat it. But you should get leaves or chow asap regardless, they won't sustain them long but it might get them through a few days ?‍

AFAIK, from chats with silkworm farmers, mulberry leaves & chow are it—kinda like koalas and eucalyptus leaves.

In a pinch I've seen them munch on dandelion greens. But really, chow or mulberry leaves are where it's at. Depending on where you're located you might be able to scavenge some mulberry. I'm in Florida and posted on Next Door asking for folks nearby to let me take some of their mulberry leaves and had a few people kindly reached out with their info.

Is it one particular variety of mulberry or any?
White Mulberry (Morus alba) has an enormous range:

Red Mulberry (Morus rubra) has a somewhat narrower range, but still quite large:

There is also Black Mulberry (Morus nigra) which appears to be limited to Old World:

White mulberry. Don't forget it's available in China, too, where it was originally cultivated!

I didn't; the OP is in Utah, so s/he should be able to find some white mulberry.
