i just want some thoughts on substrate is it good or bad, what kind, i already have a brick of exo terra coco fiber substrate

I advise to not use substrate at all.

With other reptiles you may use substrate, but usually with a chameleon you want a tall, ventilated cage, and usually they like being at the top..

So for one, if the chameleon is on the floor you've already got an issue (unless it is female and is looking for digging spots) because they love being up high.

Second, the chameleon could choke on the dirt.

Just don't use substrate.

You may use substrate for insects like superworms and mealworms

Hehe.................................. Noooo substrate!

I have enough plants in mine (10 plants total) that maybe 2 or 3 drips of water hit the cage floor with a 4 minute misting from a dual nozzle Mist King system. It is so awesome! Plus the live plants help the humidity to much.

10??? Are you sure theres a Cham in there, can you see him?!?:p

Sounds awesome!

Yeah gonna do lots of plants also with the new guys I'm gonna get, their WC so I want them to feel as comfertable as possable.

actually there is not a cham in there. My cham is not arriving until the first week in July. I'm getting a Noki male baby from Komeleons!

Gives you a chance to practice gardening:p
