Can Chameleon Absord Water through their skin

Sorry for the highjack. I see them on a fairly regular basis, and water beads on them like water on a freshly waxed car. Don't think any water is getting in. Their head shape allows for water to slide down the top of head and kinda funnle to back mouth area. Water can then be sucked in through that back section of their mouth.

This is how my melleri drink. Or they will lick wet leaves.

I hear you about the mouth having water funneled to it. You do not think any is absorbed when they just sit under a mister for 20-30 minutes and don't just drink instead just seem to enjoy themselves in the water. Especially the skin area around the belly.

I think there is a slight confusion on the differences of how water and skin interact. Sure, skin will take in water for it's own moisture, but it isn't taken into the body for hydrating the cham's body.

There are a lot of examples of life forms having body parts shaped in a way that direct water to their mouths. There is a beetle we used to find at work that parks it's butt in the air and so the water from the morning dew is channeled to it's mouth for drinking.
