Can Anyone Help?

I am ordering my Female Veil Holdback monday, getting her in tuesday!

This question goes out to anyone who has ordered chameleons online before.

I have never ordered any reptiles online and had them shipped to me.
What things should i look for to make sure she's okay when she arrives, and when she gets here, other then food and water, what should i provide her?

I've heard that some chameleons won't eat for a few days after shipping.

Any advice for a newbie in the world of overnight shipping.

So excited!!!!!!! Her name is going to be Isis ( yes after the egyptian goddess )

Make sure her cage and furnishings are all set up prior to arrival. Get her basking light set up and her digital temp gauge set up and run it and check the temps to make sure your basking temps are within the right parameters.

After she arrives just check her for any injuries that could have occured due to shipping carelessness on the part of the shipper (Not Fl Chams). Then put her in the enclosure and give her a good long misting. Then leave her the heck alone. She needs to acclimatte to her new enclosure. The next day I feed them and dust my feeders according to my dustng schedule.

I do fecals on my new chams after 10 days to two weeks in my care to check for possible parasites. If you dont have a good reptile vet. Find one now dont wait til you need one. If you have a local herp society I would check with them and see who they recommend and use.

You have very little control over shipping when you are the receiver. I always follow my chams progress with the tracking number, and call the shipper ASAP if I see a problem. There are really very few shipping problems. Who and where is it coming from? I will be waiting to see your baby

looking good, but I only saw a 4' tube light on top (assuming you have a 5.0 UVB light in there)

what about basking? otherwise seems solid

You will need a basking lamp fixture and bulb. Most use a light hood from lowes or hd and a normal 60 or 75 watt household incandescent bulb.

Your not going to keep two chams together in one cage are you? I saw pics of the male in the cage. They will need seperate enclosures. Or you will at least need to keep them partitioned into two seperate sides with visual barriers between them. And both need individual basking areas.
