Camille's egg laying update

Camille's out of the hole. She looked skinny and looked to be trying to fill in the hole since about midnight last night so about 8:00 this morning I got her out of the hole. She was to weak to finish filling the hole back end. I gave her a very long and very warm misting. She was covered in sand......I could barely see her eyeballs. She's ate a super worm, a wax worm and about 8 medium size crickets and I'll give her a little apple shortly. Haven't had a chance to weigh her yet or dig up the eggs. I'm exhausted.....only dosed a few times through the night.

Congrats! I just went through the same, my female panther took 50 days to lay eggs. I could not sleep for weeks. It's like a huge weight off your shoulders when they finally lay.

I am right their with you Jann, with both Annie & Tuffy laying eggs just a few days apart I have been a wreck. I won't really relax until I am sure both girls are back to being themselves. Tuffy, who is a pig, only drank a small amount while I was misting her and ate 2 supers. These chams sure know how to stress us don't they?

I am glad Camille is finished laying and eating again. Let us know about the eggs, Mommy.:)

Awww! Poor Camille (and you too Jann)! They look so sad and tired when they've finished digging, bless them. I think that's probably the worst part - seeing what state they are in when they've finished. You've got to feel sorry for them after their arduous task, and yes, I know that's what they do and it's instinctive to them, but it doesn't make it any easier for us does it?

Jannb,

I'm glad to hear the worst is finaly over.
I'm also glad to hear that she ate so well afterwards.

soooo, why are you keeping us waiting on how many eggs that she layed?
are you trying to drive us crazy wondering?
come on now, no sleep untill we are told. :p

grats again,
Harry

Poor little Camille, lets hope it was a small clutch, hope shes (and you :p) are OK:)

57 Eggs

They are little and I don't think they are fertile. Guess she didn't retain sperm.......but I'm keeping them for awhile just to see what happens.

Camille's doing well except for a bit of edema. She's had several showers (with the mister) and getting her colors back nicely.

Here's a few picture of Camille from today and her eggs.

How little is little on the eggs? One of my veileds always seems to produce very small eggs, but they do hatch fine. I don't be the biggers ones from my other girl have a higher hatch rate. You may be suprised. But what is most important is Camille looks good, this doesn't seem to have bothered her any more than normal. She will be your little doll as usual soon.:D

what is edema people. my cham leyed just after yours on her first clutch as you know jann and she layed on tuesday she did exactly the same all her eggs are small apart from 3 but i will be kepping them at least she didnt lay 72 eggs like mine hope shes ok

bradly,

gular edema is a swelling of the neck area. many females get this when they lay eggs or are gravid.

Camille's weight before and after

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and kind words.

Before laying Camille was 185 grams and now after laying 137 grams.

In a couple more days we are going back to the (Raising Kitty) Keeping a Female Veiled and only feeding small amounts 3 days a week and basking temps at 80 and try very hard to prevent anymore eggs. I'm not planning to ever breed again. It's just to stressful for Camille and for me.
