Calumma Crypticum or Blue Legged Chameleon

I stumbled across this beautiful species, and I was curious if anyone knew anything about them? Are they imported?

The last time they legally could have been was in 1995 although that actual species name didn't exist back then so we'd have recognized them as Chamaeleo brevicornis. A bunch of other species haven't been in the trade from Madagascar but many just received conservative annual quotas. C. crypticum looks to be receiving a quota but is the only one still listed as "in preparation." They may come in this or next year, but, bring a new species to the trade, probably won't be cheap. Probably a good thing. I'm looking forward to hopefully acquiring some if/when they start coming in.

I had a feeling someone was going to say that. I really hope that does happen. They are absolutely gorgeous. Maybe by the time they are available I will have acquired the knowledge necessary to care for such a rare species. I'd love to be apart of something so special. Hopefully its more of the next year range. I'm still new and no where near ready to take on and rehab such a rare species. If not, maybe I will know someone who gets a pair and can see them in person. Either way, I'd love to see this species make it to the US again. Just incredible.

I agree about the price. Something like this needs to only be available to the financial sound.

X2 what Kent said. This is one species I want to work with and keep too. It has been a while since the list was originally updated and I am assuming we are probably going to not see them imported this year. Even though there is a shot that they could be imported this year. However I think next year is more of a possibility.

Well atleast I know if and when they do make there way here, they will be posted on the forums how big do they get?
