OK, I haven't been able to find a really great horror movie in a long time. What do you suggest? I want something that is not only scary, but also a good story.

I haven't found any great ones in a while either. But one "horror" ( I thought it was more "suspense") was Dream House. It has Daniel Craig in it.

I lied. Hansel and Gretel was good. I had dreams about the witches after lol. But it wasn't an Omgsh I'm gonna die type fright.

a couple good suggestions (you probably have already watched)
INSIDIOUS- a very unique story, chilling, hard to sleep kinda movie
I Spit on your Grave- a thriller in its own way..awesome story line
The Ward- cant go wrong with a John Carpenter flick..plus Amber Heard is pretty awesome on the eyes :D
Lovely Molly- jeepers..this movie just gives ya a sick feeling in your gut, but for a horror movie fan..priceless

Any John Carpenter flick really.

The Fog, and The Prince of Darkness being some personal favorites.

His flicks tend to have much more story than most "horror" flicks...

There's a scene from "I Spit on your Grave" that I will NEVER get out of my head. If you have seen it, you know the one.

Candy Man

Jacobs Ladder (the silent hill games are based off this movie, and if you want a really good scare, and story, play the first three games)

OK, gonna hit this one up for sure after that comment.

All winners. I appreciate your suggestions.

What are some that you have seen?

Try to see as many good ones as I can. I can't stand the paranormal activity type of movies so I avoid those like the plague. Some of my favorites are the hellraiser movies, cube, high tension, and on and on. Its just hard to find good quality horror flicks with interesting stories these days.

I hear you. I dont see how anyone can enjoy paranormal activity...at all.

It wasnt even scary, or thrilling, or anything but boring. ;/

Youve probably seen all the good ones already ;)

Im a fan of the stephen king flicks also.

Hell, Andromeda Strain is somewhat thrilling, and a damn good story, if you havent seen that.

Yeah I tried to watch paranormal activity and after fast forwarding through most of it in an attempt to find something interesting, I just turned it off. It seems like a lot of the new movies are taking that type of approach. I'm also not a big fan of possession type movies. The exorcist was a classic, but we don't need 100 more like it.

I love most of Stephan King's movies, but I will NEVER watch it!!" Ever! Clowns don't just scare me, they turn my into a mush ball of quivers and sobs lol. No clown movies for me. Nope. Lol

Insidious was creepy!! But good!

This one isn't a horror movie, but Django unchained really got to me. I swear Quentin Tarintino psychologically scarred me with that one lol... I'll have to check out some of these movies. I'm in need of a good horror flick.

I love the after dark horror fest films. I just wish I could find them!! :(

I watched Sinister the other night.

Put the heeby jeebys in me when I went to bed that night!!

Has anybody watched the series "American Horror Story" on tv?. It is on FX It is a regular series and has been on for two seasons. It is an awesome show and so creepy and the storylines are so good. If you have Netflix on your tv they have the first season on there and will probably be adding the second as it just ended. I sat down and watched all 13 episodes in a couple of days of the first season and am hooked. No commercials!!! What is cool is they bring back most of the same actors but in a completely different setting and story for each season. Jessica Lange is superb!! PS I have not seen Spit on Your Grave, but Netflix has it so gonna watch it!

Two answers... Phantoms (Dean Koontz), although I liked the book better, and a remake of the classic Holloween. (the Rob Zombie version) Its more graphic, and still one of my favs!!!

I agree to check out INSIDIOUS, very well done! Creepy as hell...
