hi guys i was just wondering if there is such a case as over supplementation of d3... my chams are outdoor but not really so often in the sun unless i take them out of the cage... but sometimes they get morning or afternoon sun when it hits from the side... I also realized the calcium powder i got from my supplier is calcium with d3... it would be a waste to throw away.... is it ok to supplement my chams with calcium with d3? i dont use any lighting or uv bulbs i live in the philippines

How old are your chameleons? Young chams would definitely need some calcium without d3. Your chams still get UVB even when in the shade. I recommend you get some plain calcium with no d3. To answer you question, yes you can overdose them with D3. Excessive vitamin D3 supplementation can result in organ toxicity (gular edema)metastatic calcification, gout, and pseudo-gout (calcium-like deposit)

If they are permanently housed outdoors I would not use D3, you will need a plain calcium that does not contain D3. They will still need the calcium supplementation.

yes, it is possible to give too much

what type of chameleon?
what brand of calcium with D3? most brands, you wouldn't use daily even if your chameleon was inside, much less outside. The sunlight doesn't have to be all day and direct for them to get some UVB that way.
depending on the brand, you might still use the one with D3 occasionally, but you'll mostly need a mineral supplement that has no vitamins.
