had a tv on in the room later than usual (she usually has complete darkness) and was in the room when usually i’m not once lights are out. was this a sign of stress that she fell asleep here? or is this normal?
He's a Trioceros, Jackson Xantholophus... My Jackson is the little love is who made me jump into the chameleon world one year ago. I've had some worries about his horns, but have found proper husbandry is making him thrive.
Such wonderful little creatures! I'm glad to see Macha is in such good care!
Edit trying to add the husbandry link, but technology isn't working with me??...
In my experience, Spooble was very into sleeping on the screen when he was new. He still does it here and there, but it's a lot less frequent. I wouldn't say it's usually due to stress so much as they just sort of quickly fall asleep once the lights go out, and kind of turn their immediate surroundings into their bed for the night.
More horizontal or mostly horizontally oriented branches will definitely help though. Especially if you can run them through some leaves. This way they feel secure!
It is really cute getting to see their little mittens and tummy like this though. I feel like often times when I see the most questionable sleeping position, it's a veiled chameleon that is responsible lol
edit: this is my guy's most common sleeping place, for visualization
