Cage size

My veiled is 2-3 months old almost hitting 4-5 ,really not that big. My question is should I buy/build my cage and start introducing him to his new home?

Cause I getting the problem where he is scratching at the bottom glass and sometimes in the middle. Great airflow. No more reflection. Heat and humidity perfect.

My lad was doing that from time to time also right.I thinly he just wanted to walk through the glass if you know what I mean.so I covered the back and sides and he stopped scratching at it

Big diff between 2-3 and 4-5 months. he can go in the big boy tank (24x24x48) at 4 months. My rule of thumb is they can go in the big boy tank when then can eat full grown crickets.


As for rubbing the glass. Ive done odd things like put white dots from paper punchs on black tape and ran a line at eye level. In extreme nose rubbing cases ive hot glued 1/2" vinyl screen to the inside of the cage.

I'm still feeding him small crickets. I wanna wait till he grows much bigger. Medium seems far to big haha
