Cage size help

What cage size should I house a 6.5 month vieled in? I bought a 18x18x36 Reptibreeze but I will buy bigger if needed.

From what i have read you could have gone with a 2x2x4 because that will be the size of the cage he will need fully grown if not bigger. The only problem people talk about is them finding their food, but he is almost old enough to go that big.

The 24x24x48 will be needed soon enough, so that's what I would go with.
While I agree that young babies should not be housed in a cage that makes it a task to find food, I think more room for older chams to roam about in is better psychologically.

What age is appropriate for a 18x18x36?

My veiled went into a 24x24x48 at the age of 5 months old, They grow so fast! I cup feed him his crickets and its actually easier for me to monitor how much he eats that way, He loves his big cage!

Many breeders will house adult females in 18x18x36 or even smaller. I always try to give my chams more space 2x2x4 is good for an adult vieled. As said before the only concern with putting a small cham into a huge cage is being able to observe them and making sure they eat. I dont think that would be a problem for you with a 6 month old cham. Im sure he or she is fine for now in an 18x18x36 but I would be looking for a bigger cage

For a female, that size is O.K., but too small for a male. If you are cup feeding then you can have your veiled in a large enclosure sooner than 6 months. My boy is 5 months and has been in his permanent enclosure for quite a while now. You can always put a false floor in a larger enclosure to help out with hunting, but this was not an issue with my boy.
