Hi All,

I have a question, I'm Preparing My Chameleons Adult cage.

I've seen Picture's of various Cage setups.

But i still Can't figure out how you guys Hang your vines.

I have a 2x2x4 Reptibreeze cage, I have vines i picked up from Local pet stores, How do i hang them? Zip ties? Poke a hole through the cage?

Any advice would be appreciated

i useually start with sticks that are the same width as the cage i wrap them with fake vines and hold them with thumb tacks through the screen into the ends of the wood, the i can use them to hang my vines through. if you have live plants you can use them as good points to stck vines to keep them where you want them, ( like the flexible juglevines i stick them in the dirt and go from there)

i just use zip ties thru the side of the cage it works great and if you get small zip ties then when you want to move a branch it dosent leave a hole that has to be patched

how about in a glass cage?

A guy on youtube used neodymium magnets on his glass enclosures to hold sticks and stuff. Looked like a good idea. More expensive than suction cups though. In small to mid-size terraria, I just use large enough branches with lots of sub-branches so it fills the space anyway. Go chop down a bush- that's what I did. :)

ya there are some cool products out there that use magnets now like you said they are not cheap tho

got my starter glass one i had 2 main branches on the sides from top to bottom then used garden wire to tie branches from side to side.

1 branch the bottom was in the frount and the top of the branch was in the back and the other brach was facing oposite of the other .

i could set the small one up and take pics if u wanted to see the stick formation but the plant i had in the mid is about 2 times the size of the cage and is in my cham condo now.

hope u can understand my 4am-ish typing

Oh, I like the fishing line idea very much....hadn't thought of that.
When I set up my vines in my repti-breeze screened cage, I found some
florist's wire that I had on hand. Really cheap, can get at any ol' craft store like 'Michael's' etc...it's very thin, green, pliable, can poke it right through the screen holes and kinda twist em like bread ties. I cut the ends off it they are long. Easy to see/untwist if I wanna ever move stuff....

Only thing, if any of it is in your cage at all, be sure to tuck it into a twisted vine or something like that so your cham doesn't get poked!...;)

twist ties work just fine for me, just make sure when you wrap it around a vine that you poke it back through a hole nearby your first one, makes it nice and tight.
