cage materials

ok guys. i want to build my little one a bigger cage. she is a senegal cham about 7 inchs or so. she is currently in a 15x15x18 ( LxWxH). i want to build her a 18x14x28 ( LxWxH) cage out of wood and screen. can i use pine for the wood? if i stain the wood do i have to clear coat it too? can i just leave the wood bear? thanks guys.

I used pine 1"x2" in my 2 cages i built. as for stain you don't need to stain it but i would at least use some kind of waterproof clearcoat to cut down on you chances of mold.

be sure that you allow the stain and/or clear coat to dry very thoroughly. You do not want the cham smelling the chemicals.
