I think free-ranging depends upon how well you trust yourself, not how much you trust your cham. You really have to trust yourself to cham-proof the area they will be in. My panther cham has been FRing for 10 months (since he was 5 months) and he is constantly roaming around the entire downstairs. After he gets his morning mist and basks for a bit, he pretty much wanders around and patrols his territory. Some days he will take a break and chill for the day on a vine or tree. Other days he will knock off things on tables, etc. while exploring. And anytime anything changes, he must go inspect it. I guess a lot depends on their individual personalities. Plus, being a male, I assume he's always looking for a female, so yours may not wander so much. . .maybe! But my cham and I love FRing and I would highly recommend it if you think you can do it safely!
