are cage kits worth the price they are sold for or would it be better to just by everything seperatly

Prob just be cheaper to make your own if you use some of the fourms.I built a tube cage for about 40 inculding the plants and ties.its 4 feet tall and has a 17in diameter.if you want the instructions let me know. All from homedepot

i ended up buying everything separately. i did that so that i can pick what and how i wanted the enclosure to look. also, the cage kits are usually for small babies and you'll have to buy an adult cage and stuff anyway. i bought all my stuff from LLLreptile. shipping sucks but they have everything you need in one place.

If its your first chameleon. I would consider a cage kit. It will get you started and you'll know that you have all the essentials. If you do buy everything seperately I'd say double check your list and make sure you dont forget anything because if you do by the time you pay shipping twice because you forgot an item or two that cage kit is gonna be cheaper....
Usually the breeder isnt making much on these kits. They are offered as a means of knowing that their offspring will be cared for properly. They are making their money on the cham not the kit.

I wud just make my own. They usually turn out better depending on how u make them. I made mine out of wood and aluminum screening. My cage is 3.5ftx2ftx2ft and it looks like a nice piece of furniture. I was able to stain it a really nice dark stain color. It's not hard to make one at all if u have a few tools. The main thing u need is a saw pretty much a miter saw is the best. And a drill and some screws and a staple gun. There r a few pics of my cage online u can see it a little bit in them.
