cage build...emphasis on H,W or D

I am in the midst of planning a new cage for the guys. I am coming to understand this thing of Cham madness.

I know that height is important but given that I want to build a viv that is about 4' high, what would be good dimensions to figure the width to be?

Just curious.

i always consider the light size 4' bulbs are cheapest per inch so use multiples of 2' or 4'

Adults require at least a 24 L x 24 W x 48 H
I have read this on several different care sheets.
Also, the bigger the better.
