Buying Silkworms Today

Im buying silkworms and hornworms from coastal silkworms today. What size silkworms should i buy? and how many should i buy? also how can i make my own silkworm food and habitat post pictures of how you keep your silkworms.

My 6 month old veiled can eat the biggest of the silkies and 3 inch hornworms no problem. He's around 5-5.5 inches STV. If that helps he really likes silkies but he gets tired of hornworms really fast.

I keep mine in a plastic tub with some plastic mesh type stuff (it has a name, I just can't remember, but you can buy it at a craft store) that is suspended in the tub so the poopies fall through. If you want your own silkie food without the powdered chow you need a mulberry tree that has no pesticides on it.

It is called plastic canvas and you can buy it a walmart for like 1.50 so the silkworms live longer and better. Since the worms are so soft you should be fine feeding large worms as long as your chameleon is just not a baby. Also it depends on how many you want to order. If you want to get alot get smaller ones and extra food and raise them and they will last longer. Good luck my chameleons love silkies
