Buying from an out of state expo?

I was just wondering, if I were to visit a reptile show far away where I would have to fly, how would I be able to bring a reptile back home with me? Do you think a breeder would send it in the mail for me or is there a way to legally bring it on the plane with me?

I'm asking because I will have to miss the reptile convention that I've been waiting all year for in Sacramento. Now I think I will visit the next big one far away from wear I live.

Marc,

I cannot disclose this information to the public due to the fact that I work for the airlines, but I'll message you with how to bring the animal onboard the aircraft.

Alternatively, most breeders WILL ship to you at home. My method is what I'll message you, and I do it all the time.

is that a snake in your shorts???!!!??? NO!!! ITS A CHAMELEON!

Haha, not quite. Obviously the animal must be seen by the TSA. There's more to all of this....that would be pretty comical though...especially if you got randomly selected for extra screening!

I know this really doesnt help, but it reminded me of a funny story. My wife and I travel overseas for work frequently, and the first time we were in thailand we went to this HUGE outdoor market. I naturally went looking for the animal section and found a ton of reptiles. As I was looking at this beautiful venomous snake, the guy asked me if i wanted to buy it, I told him I coudnt becuase I live in the US and couldnt get it back into the country. His response was " yes, yes, come here, watch, put in pants!" he then put the snake in an empty coke bottle with holes in it and slid it down the front of his pants!!!! My wife turned to me and said" i am not flying 20 hours sitting next to you with a venomous snake in your pants!" Needless to say, we didnt get it.

Since we plan on going to both the chicago show and the Texas shows this year, I would also like to know how to get the chams home with us on the plane!

Thanks, Jeffrey

The in-cabin pet fee applies to small sized dogs and cats ONLY.
