Buying a Used Camera

i am maybe going to purchase a Nikon D80 used.. it is 400$ and she wants 25$ for gas money, Heres the link

I dont want to buy it, come home and see that it doesnt work... what should i look for (If i decide to get it) To see if it works? ive never used a high tech cam like this.

She cut it down to 400, because i told her im a student, and because the ad is 2 months old.

You really should consider a digital over a film camera. Film is cool and all, but digital allows you to take 38748738947297349872 pictures for free! I'm sure if the deal was that sweet it would have sold by now aswell. Take a look at Nikon's and Canon's entry level DSLR's, you might find one you like.

my walmart of all places had the D40 on sell for $350 this was the kit with a 18-55mm lens. they had the regular price kit with 2x 8gb sd cards, but i already have a crap ton so i saved the 50$
